Emma

My roommates and I watched the movie "Emma" tonight.  It is about Emma's perspective & life as the wife of the Prophet of the Restoration.  Some quotes that I loved from the movie are:
  • Strength isn’t something you have, it’s something God helps you find.
  • God loves us even when we hold back.
  • When the Lord commands, do it
  • When we embark on a journey, we must never look back.
  • Revelation isn’t willing to come until you are willing to ask.
  • God is our friend.  He always has our best interest at heart.
  • When we are filled with the spirit, there is no room for doubt.
  • God knows who we are.  We cannot go anywhere that he cannot find us.
I loved watching this movie.  It feels so good to hear the testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith again.  I miss being a missionary and being able to testify to strangers that I came to love about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Being a missionary called of God is still one of the responsibilities I will always treasure.

Back to life in Idaho

It is great to be back on my blog!  It has been a great past 3 years.  I came to know and love the amazing people of Missouri while serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I met people from all around the world including Iraq, Cambodia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Africa, Marshall Islands, and so many other places.  I had the great privilege of teaching them about Jesus Christ.  My heart will always belong to those people.

I am getting back into the swing of things.  I am studying at BYU-Idaho and am still majoring in Accounting.  I will be graduating December 2014 and cannot wait!  I love numbers and math, but my passion lies with being in the kitchen.  The semester ends in less than 2 weeks.  I am so excited to be home with my family for 7 weeks!  It's going to be a great summer!

Mission Call:

Well, I finally got my mission call about a month ago.....
I'm going to the Missouri Independence Mission spanish speaking!  I report September 15, and I honestly cannot wait!  It's a great feeling to know where the Lord would want you to be, and to have no doubts about it.  President Thomas S. Monson signed my mission call.  He is a prophet of God!  And I will forever testify that revelation is alive and real and will be forever.

I am soooo excited to be a missionary for My Savior!  How incredible is that!  I cannot wait to serve in Missouri and to speak spanish!  And be able to meet soo many people.

86 Days until I'm a sister missionary!

Waiting....

My papers have been submitted since friday, and I'm just waiting to get my call in the mail! I should get it on friday and I am soooo excited! Its amazing how fast time is flying by.  I remember when I had over 150 days left to turn my papers in. And now it's just a couple days until I find out where I will be serving!
God lives. I love Him. I cannot wait to be a sister missionary for Him.
